Why is the Chargemap rate higher than the price displayed at the charging station?

When you top up at a charging station that’s compatible with the Chargemap Pass, you can see different prices posted up on the station.

In fact, Chargemap signs contracts with charge point operators (CPO) so that you can have access to most networks throughout Europe. The whole point of the Chargemap Pass is to avoid stacking up piles of different cards and subscriptions :)

Chargemap’s rates therefore take into account what the CPOs apply and how much they bill us afterwards. Sometimes, we can’t give you exactly the same price, but we are working on offering you a negotiated, simplified pricing system little by little whenever the opportunity arises.

We therefore encourage you always to check the prices displayed on Chargemap before charging your EV, as indicated in our General Terms and Conditions of Sale (3.1.1 Respecting the terms and conditions of use).

Finally, if the rate is not available on Chargemap, we advise you not to charge your electric vehicle there.

If you need further help or have any other questions, you can contact the Chargemap Support Centre. Our team is always ready to help.
